PRIMATES AND BIRDING TOUR IN UGANDA.

Overview
This safari centers mainly on visiting destinations that feature the spectacular primates of Uganda: we trek the Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the wild Chimps in the rainforests of Kibale Forest together with numerous monkeys and baboons. We shall also take you to Ngamba Island on Lake Victoria, where orphaned chimps were transferred to live "Out of harm's way." The package is also tailored to include as much wildlife and birds as the participants wish for.
ITINERARY:
Day 1: Arrival.
Meet our professional guide or driver and transfer to the hotel for overnight stay in Kampala / Entebbe. Early arrivals will visit the Entebbe Wildlife Education Centre.
Day 2: Wildlife safari to Kibale Forest National Park.
Today, we shall start after an early breakfast and begin our safari with a long drive to Kibale Forest National Park. We may have a chance of birding the main Road where we expect to encounter large crowds of Olive Baboons, Black and White Colobus Monkeys, red Colobus Monkey, Red Tailed and Velvet Monkeys. Bkibale National park is popular for hosting 13 primate species including the closest living relatives to human beings - the Chimpanzees.
Birders here are never disappointed. This forested park is a home to over 350 species of birds including the rare Green-breasted Pitta.
Day 3: Chimps and other primate tracking safari and all-day bird watching.
After breakfast go for chimpanzee tracking. Other primates include the L'hoestes, Red colobus, Red tailed, Olive Baboon, Gray cheeked Mangabey and many others. In the afternoon we shall visit to Bigodi wetland, which is managed by the local community. Here, we expect to spot the Elusive Sitatunga Antelope in the Papyrus and several other interesting species of birds like the White-winged warbler, Papyrus Gonolek, Carruthre's Cisticola, and others.
Day 4: Primate Safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
This day, we transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey takes us through beautifully scenic areas with a clear view of the Mountains of the Moon. We shall arrive early in the afternoon and have a short stay at the scenic Kyambura Gorge, which is also home to the Chimps and several other primate species.
Day 5: Wildlife Safari Queen Elizabeth National Park, Game and birding drive and Launch Cruise.
After an early breakfast go for a morning game drive in the Park; mammals include Elephant, Buffalos, Lions, Bush bucks, Kobs, Giant forest hog, Hyenas and Waterbucks.
In the afternoon we'll take a boat along the amazing Kazinga channel where we shall have close views of schools of Hippos, Buffalos, and Crocodiles close to the waterside, on a lucky day we may as well view the rare Leopard prowling. There is a variety of bird species, Including Saddle-billed Stork, both species of Pink-backed and Great Pelicans, African Skimmer, Yellow billed stork, Black tern, and many others.
Day 6: Forest birding in Uganda.
Maramagambo Forest Birding for the whole day.
Day 7: Birding safari to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda.
Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the seasonal Ishasha sector, which also provides greater chances of viewing the tree climbing lions on a lucky day. This rather a long journey where we shall have several stops to stretch the legs and look for interesting birds.
Day 8: Gorilla Tracking Safari.
Prepare yourself for an exciting, once-in-a-lifetime experience, Mountain Gorilla Tracking. The Gorillas are and peaceful animals and it is an unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they interact. Gorilla tracking is an inspiring and wonderful adventure which one can't afford to miss. Gorilla tracking usually includes walking on steep and slippery slopes, so fitness and appropriate footwear are required.
Day 9: Wildlife tour to Lake Mburo National Park.
After breakfast, we drive to Lake Mburo National Park. We shall reach the park late in the afternoon and we have a game drive through, we expect to encounter herds of Zebras, Topis, Elephants, Elands, Impalas, Buffaloes and primates like the Velvet Monkey and the Olive Baboons.
Day 10: Birding in Lake Mburo National Park.
Early morning game and birding drive in the park. Transfer to Kampala / Entebbe as we wind up our safari.
Day 11: Widlife tour to Ngamba Island.
After an early breakfast, we shall take a speedboat to Ngamba Island, home of orphaned baby Chimpanzees, with the help from Jane Goodall Institute. We will observe the morning feeding of the Chimps. Drive to Entebbe International Airport in the afternoon, arriving in time ready to catch your flight back home.
